Gili Trawangan is the largest of the 3 Gili Islands just off Lombok's Northwestern coastline. You can reach it after a scenic 30 km drive from the airport of Mataram and a 10 minutes speedboat ride.

There are numerous daily flights from Denpasar (Bali) to Mataram (Lombok), the flight-time is approximately 25 minutes (the airfare is approx. 65 US$ return).

Merpati Nusantara Airlines have a minimum 4 daily flights in each direction.
Wings/Lion Airlines have 2 daily flights in each direction.
There are other airlines serving this route as well. furthermore there are daily flights from Jakarta, Surabaya and Jogyakarta to Mataram.
Silk Air flies Singapore-Mataram 3 times a week.

Lombok is a great set of bungalows located on the island of Gili Trawangan just of the north coast of Lombok. Only a few minutes walk from the main harbour area as well as being located almost directly on the beach. Lombok offers a Dive shop as well as all of the expected facilities and comforts of a budget bungalow set up. There are fabulous gardens which the bungalows are located in and there are also a number of bars and restaurant located just a few minutes walk away along the beach and in the opposite direction there are a number of snorkeling areas offering reefs and coral as well as plenty of tropical fish and the resident turtles which are not hard to spot.

Gili Trawangan offers an extremely laid back atmosphere with no cars or motorized vehicles of any kind, no dogs and a mellow party atmosphere in the bars in the evenings. Lombok is the perfect place to enjoy a dive holiday or indeed a beach holiday of any kind. The diving in world class and is easily accessible by boats as the Gilis are very close together.

The rooms include the budget standard rooms and the deluxe rooms both of which are well presented with comfortable beds, traditional Sasak artwork and bamboo furniture as well as other facilities.
